Ingredients
  

Pudding Base
  • 1 box (5 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk whole milk recommended
  • 1 cup whipped topping like Cool Whip
Fruits & Layers
  • 3 medium bananas sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafers

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping gently until fully combined and creamy.
  3. In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers on the bottom. Top with a layer of sliced bananas, followed by sliced strawberries.
  4. Spoon a layer of the pudding mixture over the fruit. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until chilled and set.
  6. Before serving, garnish with extra sliced strawberries, bananas, or crushed vanilla wafers if desired.

Notes

For best results, prepare this pudding a few hours ahead of time to allow the wafers to soften into a cake-like texture. You can also substitute whipped cream for the topping if you prefer a richer flavor.
