Method
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
- Fold in the whipped topping gently until fully combined and creamy.
- In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers on the bottom. Top with a layer of sliced bananas, followed by sliced strawberries.
- Spoon a layer of the pudding mixture over the fruit. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until chilled and set.
- Before serving, garnish with extra sliced strawberries, bananas, or crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
Notes
For best results, prepare this pudding a few hours ahead of time to allow the wafers to soften into a cake-like texture. You can also substitute whipped cream for the topping if you prefer a richer flavor.
