Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, eggs, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Stir in the pecan halves and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly soft. The pie will continue to set as it cools.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely for at least 1 hour before slicing.
Notes
For a glossy finish, brush the pecans on top with a bit of corn syrup before baking. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
