Ingredients

Ingredients
  • One 21-ounce can Cherry Pie Filling
  • Two 8-ounce tubes Crescent Roll Dough
  • One cup Powdered Sugar
  • One to two tablespoons Milk

Equipment

  • Muffin tin
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Wire rack

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a standard muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Unroll each tube of crescent roll dough and press the seams together to form a solid sheet. Cut each sheet into 12 equal squares. Press each square into a muffin cup, forming a small cup with the dough.
  3. Spoon about two to three tablespoons of cherry pie filling into each dough cup.
  4. Gently fold the corners of the dough over the filling. They do not need to cover the filling completely.
  5. Bake for 13-14 minutes, or until the dough is a golden-brown color.
  6. While the bites are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and one tablespoon of milk in a small bowl to make the glaze. Add more milk as needed to reach a smooth, drizzle-able consistency.
  7. Let the baked cherry bites cool in the pan for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bites and serve.

Notes

For best results, keep the crescent dough cold to make it easier to handle. Use a small cookie scoop for even filling distribution. Allow the bites to cool for 5-10 minutes before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting. You can substitute other pie fillings like apple or blueberry, and a cream cheese glaze can be used as an alternative.
