Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract. Spread evenly over the crust.
- In another bowl, toss chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon. Evenly spread the apple mixture over the cheesecake layer.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is set. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm. Before serving, drizzle with caramel sauce and slice into bars.
Notes
For extra flavor, try using tart apples like Granny Smith. You can also add a sprinkle of chopped pecans over the apple layer before baking for a crunchy twist.
