Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla extract; whisk until combined.
- Stir in mashed bananas until well blended.
- Add flour and salt, mixing just until incorporated. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
- To make the frosting, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma. Remove from heat immediately.
- Whisk in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread the frosting over cooled brownies and allow to set before slicing.
Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon into the batter or add chopped walnuts on top before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
