Ingredients

Salmon Bites
  • 1 lb skinless salmon fillet cut into 1-inch cubes
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
Honey Garlic Marinade
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • red pepper flakes optional, for heat
Optional Garnish
  • sesame seeds for topping
  • sliced green onions for topping

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes so the basket is hot when the salmon goes in.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce or tamari, minced garlic, olive oil, a pinch of salt, and some black pepper. Add red pepper flakes if you want a spicier flavor.
  3. Pat the salmon cubes dry with paper towels, then add them to the bowl and gently toss until all the pieces are evenly coated in the honey-garlic mixture.
  4. Let the salmon marinate for about 10–15 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate if marinating longer, to allow the flavors to penetrate.
  5. Lightly spray or line the air fryer basket with a parchment or silicone liner rated for high heat to help prevent sticking.
  6. Arrange the marinated salmon bites in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between pieces so air can circulate.
  7. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping the bites once halfway through, until the salmon is opaque, flakes easily with a fork, and the glaze looks slightly caramelized at the edges.
  8. Transfer the salmon bites to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if using. Serve hot as an appetizer or over rice, salad, or grains.

Notes

For the juiciest texture, avoid overcooking the salmon; start checking a minute or two before the suggested time since air fryers vary. If using a liner, make sure it does not block air flow and is weighed down by the salmon so it does not lift into the heating element.
